LIVERPOOL WILL ACTIVATE CLAUSE AND BRING 40 MILLION EURO PLAYERS

Jurgen Klopp has found a footballer with whom he wants to strengthen his defense and Liverpool will set aside 40 million euros for him, reports The Athletic.

It is about 21-year-old French stopper Ibrahimi Konate who plays for Red Bull Leipzig.  An agreement between the clubs has not yet been reached, and Liverpool will, according to journalist David Ornstein, have to activate a buyout clause of 40 million euros.

Konate arrived in Leipzig in 2017 from Sochaux.  In the last two seasons, he has played only 26 games due to major injury problems.  Liverpool are also in trouble with defender injuries, so Klopp was most often played by defensive midfielders as a stopper this season, and by bringing in Konate, the German coach wants to increase competition in the back line.

Klopp also plans to increase competition in the attack and, according to British media, plans to bring in PSV striker Donyell Malen.
