The AC Milan striker, who is 39 years old, originally announced his retirement from international football after Sweden’s Euro 2016 campaign, but the player had hoped to come back for the World Cup 2018 in Russia, only for manager Janne Andersson to ignore his pleas and not call him up.

However, today Andersson has included him in his squad for the upcoming World Cup 2022 qualifiers with Kosovo and Georgia, in what must be a be strong indication that he will be part of the Sweden team for this summer’s Euro 2020 Championship.

Ibrahimovic played 116 times, scoring 62 goals and is one of the country’s finest ever players and one of the biggest stars of his generation.

His career needs no introduction and he has played for the biggest clubs in the world, always scoring goals. Aside from a difficult season under Pep Guardiola at Barcelona in 2009-2010, he has been a success everywhere he has played, including in his one season in the Premier League with Manchester United where he scored 17 goals in 33 appearances as the club won the League Cup and the Europa League.
